Carol Stewart (carolbstewart)

I am a Charlotte, NC native, whose interest in photography was sparked by my dad and by photography teacher Byron Baldwin at Myers Park High School in 1972. My first camera was a Beseler Topcon Super D, which I carried everywhere. I took shots of family and friends, nature and wildlife, artsy and funky stuff… any and everything. Developing black and white prints in the darkroom and trips to the photo store to pick up color prints were so exciting – I couldn’t wait to see the results of each roll!

In early 2002, I began using a digital camera, but I still loved film. I used both for a while, but then I upgraded my digitial equipment, and by 2004 I had set my film camera aside.

A few years ago some of my friends at a local publication encouraged me to show some of my work to their director. She offered me an opportunity to work on a project, and that’s when I decided to pursue my passion of photography as a freelancer. You will see some of my work online in these galleries.
